As a designer, no matter what we design, the first thing we need to understand is the material, and we choose the appropriate location according to the characteristics of the material. Now there are many amusement equipment, so what are the key points that need to be mastered when designing amusement equipment?

1. Selection of materials

Rides should be constructed of durable, hygienic, and easy-to-maintain materials, and neither potentially toxic substances nor unfinished metals (rusted or used for electrical wiring) should be used for the rides. Metal must be painted, galvanized or treated to prevent rust. Wood is a good substitute for metal, but must be of the same kind without cracks, and in cases treated to prevent cracking and irregular breakage (not just the surface). If synthetic material is chosen, it must be durable and crack resistant. Surface finishing, especially on rough and uneven materials, is also one of the fundamental steps to reduce the risk of injury.

The design of handrails and railings

Handrails and railings are common devices in amusement rides. Handrails and railings not only prevent falls, but holding them while walking also provides support and stability. Therefore, it should be designed in an easy-to-grip size according to relevant regulations. The height and diameter of the side protection facility is determined by its location, whether it is on a ladder, slope, walkway or raised platform, it must comply with the relevant local regulations for the relevant facilities.

3. The role of boundaries

Whether or not to set boundaries depends on the age of the ride users and the children's climbable heights. Thanks to the guardrails, the boundary stops children from falling from raised platforms and prevents them from climbing too high. Therefore, the design of the boundary should prevent climbing, standing or sitting on it. Therefore, the boundary should enclose the raised plane, leaving only an opening into and out of the platform. The opening should be smaller than the child's body so that the child does not slip or get caught in the crevice. The height of the boundary from the platform, ladder or slope surface should be at least 70 cm.

4. Design of support

Many rides have a support function, providing support for the hands and feet for grasping, balancing, and climbing. Effective handles should be sized and positioned for the child to grasp, securely attach the handles to the main structure, and prevent them from falling off and rotating.

5. Installation of seams, screws and edges

Such facilities include the exterior edges of the rides and the system of parts used to mount the equipment. For the sake of it, sharp edges, sharp shapes, and dangerous corners should be avoided. To ensure smooth surfaces of welded parts, the parts that anchor or support the structure should be strong and stable. The nails should fit flush into the main structure, the screws should be covered with plastic caps, and the protrusions should not exceed 8mm.
