Last summer, Guangzhou Chimelong Happy World unveiled its grand renovation! The highly anticipated “Punk Wonderland” themed area is now fully opened, blending steampunk aesthetics with immersive attractions to create a magical haven for visitors of all ages. Among the highlights is the all-new LSM Launch Coaster, custom-designed for Chimelong by Jinma Rides. The launch of this attraction has not only become a key draw for the park but also marks another significant leap forward for China’s large-scale, high-end amusement equipment industry in terms of R&D, customization, site adaptation, and experience enhancement.

The successful launch of the LSM launch coaster serves as a model case for the quality improvement and upgrading of domestic theme parks. It has broken the reliance on imported Launch Coasters, achieving self-reliance and control over key technologies through domestic engineering capabilities, enabling rapid product deployment and effectively reducing the park’s operational and maintenance costs. At the same time, by deeply integrating steampunk aesthetics with the launch coaster, the project helps theme parks create a long-term appeal that keeps visitors coming back for more, playing a positive role in boosting regional cultural and tourism consumption.

The track layout, ride elements, and passenger capacity of this roller coaster were all custom-designed to meet Chimelong’s overall operational requirements. The project blends technology and art, aiming to create an unforgettable experience for visitors while elevating the thematic atmosphere to its peak. Each car carries 20 passengers, featuring ergonomic seats with exclusive memory foam. The exterior design is infused with steampunk elements, and the car bodies and tracks are adorned with soft, vest-style leg restraints that combine safety with comfort. Once launched, the train accelerates to nearly 100 km/h within 4 seconds, plunging into a steam-filled tunnel of intertwining light and shadow. The intense G-force and visual spectacle deliver a dual sensory thrill to passengers. The train then races at full speed to a 36-meter-high peak before continuing along the 830-meter-long multi-element track at 97 km/h. The alternating effects of weightlessness and centrifugal force allow visitors to unleash their excitement during the high-speed ride.
